VENEERS
Porcelain veneers are very thin leafs of porcelain glued to the front of the previously prepared tooth. Treatment of veneers includes reconstruction of traumatic tooth crown fracture and aesthetic correction of much discolored teeth.
Veneers provide excellent cosmetic results. Unfortunately, the big fill of the palatal side, makes the rear veneers impossible to put in. After collection of the front layer of the tooth it is simply not available to glue the veneers.
INLAY, ONLAY CROWN INSERTS
If there are large defects of hard dental tissues, an alternative to the standard fillings are inlay, onlay type. Crown inserts are the most durable and also very aesthetic looking fillings for the missing tooth tissue.
They are made in collaboration with the dental laboratory from impressions taken earlier. They can be made of porcelain or composite. Ready (prepared by the technician) the crown insert is deposited by the physician in patient’s mouth. This type of tooth filling remains tight for many years, since denture shrinkage which occurs when large composite fillings are placed.
CERAMIC PORCELAIN CROWN
Due to the aesthetics the all-ceramic crowns are an ideal alternative to standard porcelain crowns veneers. They do not contain metal framework (in this substructure is zirconium or other ceramics), making it possible to obtain depth and translucency which perfectly imitates the natural healthy tooth.
They are usually performed within the front teeth, where aesthetics plays a key role.
HIGIENE AND PROPHILAXIS TREATMENTS
SCALING
It is the removal of tartar over-and subgingival. In our office we use an ultrasonic method, which is the fastest and most effective way to remove the calculus. If the procedure is performed correctly, it should be painless and harmless for the teeth and gums.
After this type of surgery it is usually recommended to also do teeth sanding and fluoride coating.
TEETH SANDING
This procedure consists of removing sediment from the teeth resulting from drinking coffee or tea and smoking cigarettes. Teeth sanding is done using a strong stream of water and a special sand.
TEETH WHITENING
Professional whitening in the dental surgery is fully secure. But there are some contraindications. This procedure is not performed on pregnant women and nursing mothers, an epileptics, and children under 16 years of age. Whitening effect lasts from one to three years. Keep in mind that the fillings are not subject to bleaching. In the Unident office there are two methods of whitening: laser and overlay.
